Gustavus Running Camps

Facilities and Directions

All runners attending the Gustavus Running Camp will spend time training and learning in a variety of environments on the Gustavus campus and in the surrounding area of campus.

Linnaeus Arboretum which is located on campus:
The arboretum covers 125 acres, which includes the new 70-acre Coneflower Prairie added in 2008.
The arboretum comprises formal gardens and restored natural areas including tall grass prairie, wetlands, coniferous forests, and deciduous woods which represent the biomes present in Minnesota.

Lund Center:
Lund Center was dedicated on October 21, 1984 and continues to be one of the finest recreational facilities in the area.
The campers will have access to after hour activities in the swimming pool, basketball court, racquetball courts, indoor track, as well as the out door track soccer field and the football field.

Beck Hall:
Beck Hall is the newest building on campus and this is where all of the classroom learning for the camp will take place.  Beck Hall is a $30 million building which boasts 125,000 square foot of "state-of-the-art" classrooms.  Beck Academic Hall houses the academic departments of Communication Studies, Economics and Management, History, Psychology, and Sociology and Anthropology.  It also features psychology labs designed to help foster student-faculty collaboration and interdisciplinary research, a digital arts lab, studio space for GAC-TV and KGSM Radio, a large team room for the College’s nationally ranked Forensics Program, and dedicated space for the College’s Neuroscience Program.

Princeton Review has consistantly ranked the Gustavus MarketPlace in the top 10 dining services on a college campus.The athletes that attend the Gustavus Running Camp will enjoy eating their meals at the Nationally ranked MarketPlace.

Gustavus Adolphus College is located 60 miles from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Drive times vary depending on traffic levels, but with good traffic conditions, it will take about one hour to drive to Gustavus from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, about 75 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, MN, and about 90 minutes from downtown St. Paul, MN.

From the north
Continue on 169 (Minnesota Avenue) southbound through St. Peter, turn right onto College Avenue, and go up the hill into campus.

From the east
Come into St. Peter on westbound Hwy 99, and at the intersection of Broadway and Minnesota Avenue, turn left. Continue on Minnesota Ave. until you reach College Avenue, turn right, go up the hill into campus.

From the south
Continue on 169 (Minnesota Avenue) northbound through St. Peter, turn left onto College Avenue, and go up the hill into campus.

From the west
Come into St. Peter on eastbound Hwy 99, and turn left onto Minnesota Avenue. Continue north to College Avenue, turn left, and go up the hill into campus.
